Hello in 2008

There is nothing like a week at the beach. We had a great time and can hardly wait to get together with everyone next year!

Hello to everyone. I pretty much fell off the blog bandwagon during the last 8 months, but I think I am going to jump back on. I fixed the problem that prevented ya'll from leaving comments--so please comment, cuz receiving comments is what makes blogging worth while. (lol) I finished my first year of teaching high school. I had an absolute blast. The new school year started last week and I think my new group of students will be just as great. Who would have "thunk" that teaching 10th graders could be so much fun. Adelynn has entered Junior High. Gulp. I think she is going to have at least a 1,000 times better experience than I did. Her teachers are all fabulous and all her classes are in the same hallway as my class room. It is fun to see her several times a day. Adelynn's biggest news is she tried out for the JJV volleyball team and made it. Go Team! You can see from the pictures that she is growing up WAY too fast. Enoch is now in 6th grade. His biggest news revolves around boyscouts. He had a great time at scout camp this summer, coming home all pumped to get his Eagle. Will told Enoch that if he received his Eagle by the time he was 14, they could take a daddy/son weekend trip somewhere. Needless to say I fully expect Enoch to reach this goal. The little boys get busier by the day, or rather I get busier by the day trying to keep track of them, (whew), which is why if you call and Will answers the phone he will say "House of Confusion" instead of "Hello."

more fall fun

Watching movies, lots of hugs and "horsing' around. Greyson is now running around after Win, wanting to try everything he sees Win do. He can now climb up on Will's back for a ride. Greyson can now say two words "hello" and "ball." One of his favorite things to do outside is kick a soccer ball around. When you compare his size to that of the ball, it would be like us kicking around a beach ball.

Nothing like watermelon to cool down a summer day! Who cares if you make a big mess, you're just a baby!

School

As many of you already know, I have entered the world of education. Due to the bleak situation found in the public schools in Franklin, (specifically the Middle school where Adelynn would have attended this year) Will and I decided that it was time to send the children to the local private school Southampton Adademy. (You can check out the school's website www.southamptonacademy.org ) Of course a private school education is not free. So to allay the rather large cost of tuition, I am now teaching sophomore compostion, three sections. I will be focusing heavily on grammar and vocabulary first semester, then second semester I will have the students apply what they have learned. You can see from the "punctuation exercise" above just how IMPORTANT what I am teaching is.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday Winslow! Now you can go to pre-school. Yipee. Win was SUPER excited for his birthday so he could "blow out the fire and sing happy birthday to me and go to school and wear my backpack!" My favorite is how he eats his cake. Notice Thomas the Train. Win is VERY into trains right now.






Nothing like celebrating your FIRST birthday. Greyson wasn't so sure about the birthday cake thing. See how he is gingerly touching it. It took him a while to get warmed up to the idea of digging in, but he got there in the end!

Sleeping

ok, so we Councills specialize in sleeping in the most bizarre places and positions. I thought ya'll would enjoy seeing the best sleeping pictures we have to offer.

Summer Time !!!!

I have finally down-loaded all my summer beach pix. We got some "gooders." The week was great except for my nasty, awful, painful, RED sunburn. (how old am I, shouldn't I know better? Hello!!!)
